A New Look At The Beach

While spending time at the condo and soaking up the beauty of it all...I just can't stop myself from changing the decor in the condo...one day Mr.CC is going to tell me NO...but that hasn't happen yet...thank goodness! We bought this condo 6 1/2 years ago and have done so many changes to it over the years...new carpet...tile...sofa...side chairs...entertainment center...bed...bedding(I have changed the bedding several times)...all the light fixtures and lamps...outdoor balcony furniture(several times)...artwork(several times)...area rugs...added beadboard in the hallway and have painted every room but one...master bedroom has stayed the same...but not for long...I'm planning on painting it soon! So what has changed? The kitchen color...it was painted a very cool shade of RED and I dearly loved it, but I wanted a new look in there...sooooo the paint brushes came out! I decided to paint it the same chocolate color that I painted in my kitchen at home and I LOVE it! Here are some after pics(can't find any before pics)...tell me what you think! The "S" plate was painted by one of my daughters as a Christmas gift to me.This CUTE little nest was found at a new upscale shop last week for only $2.00...the owners mother was working for her while she was set up at a local Spring Garden Show...soooo...while she was gone...her mother was marking down and selling me items at GARAGE SALE prices...I was in HEAVEN!A Dollar Tree "BIRD"!She sold me two cute little BEACH signs for $1.00 each!Aren't they cute?A dozen limes were $2.00...this sweet lady is my new BFF!

Nifty Thrifty Tuesdays No.5

This week I'm at my beach condo...sooooo...how about a BEACHY thrifty treasure? I needed a new towel rack rack in the bathroom for all those beach towels...it needed to be at least four feet long and I could not find one that long in the stores...so with some SWEET talking...Mr.CC said he would cut me a piece of wood...thank you honey! After the wood was cut and painted, then the four hooks were screwed in...looked a little blah...so I had the idea to add some cute little starfish to it...WOW...what a difference this made! The breakdown for the rack... wood/$4.00...hooks/FREE(already had them)...paint/FREE(already had this too)...starfish/$2.00 for one(already had two of them at the condo)...shopping my own home is one of my favorite places to go thriftin...how about you?

New Twist on Shower Rods

Get rid of all those boring old SHOWER RODS....install a BAMBOO ROD....WOW what a statement this makes! I went to a local home decor store and purchased a BAMBOO piece...install some shower cups to the wall to hold it in place and she was up and looking good! Try this...I don't think you will be disappointed!

I did this in a small bathroom at my beach condo....I liked it soooo much, that I think I will do this in a guest bath at home. Please join me at Gay's PAR-TAY!
I'm also going over to Diana's PAR-TAY...see you there! The Girl Creative

Nifty Thrifty Tuesdays No.4

It's a beautiful day here on the gulf coast...I'm so happy that SPRING has finally arrived and the grass is turning GREEN! It's always so nice for the spring season to arrive because that means EASTER is coming too...click here to see my "OLD RUGGED CROSS"...I'm lovin' it so much, that I think I will leave it on the door through the spring season...maybe even longer. I consider it a thrifty wreath since I only spent $11.00 on it and I can re-use both the cross and the frame for other projects. I have done a little display in my family room with some moss bunnies that I picked up at a church thrift store in Birmingham...I saw them as soon as I came into the store and I knew they would be coming home with me...the best part was that they were only $1.00 each...WOW...what a deal! I had some cute eggs that I had bought at Hobby Lobby (I think I paid $3.00 for the bag of them)...pulled out some green grass from the Dollar Tree and I was done...EASTER display complete and total cost was only $6.00!

This is not a normal thrifty find that I usually share with all of you, but I thought you gals might like it...so here it goes...Mr.CC was in our Neighborhood Wal-Mart Friday afternoon and discovered a discount table filled with some great bargains...the ladies that were loading the table with all the merchandise told him that they do this every Friday afternoon around 5:00...this week the HOT item was laundry detergent! Yes...we have enough of laundry detergent to last us for months...even maybe a year! I'm not sure if the BIG super Wal-Mart's do this...it might be only in the Neighborhood Wal-Mart stores. I hope I can remember to stop by every Friday afternoon to see what bargains they have...this will give me a good reason to stop by the Tuesday Morning next door:) This week I will be posting the NTT HIGHLIGHTS on SUNDAY (I feel that this will be the best day to do this)...so please come by then and see who caught my eye this week!

The Old Rugged Cross

Easter is two weeks away and in church today we sang one of my favorite songs...THE OLD RUGGED CROSS. When I was trying to decide what I wanted to put on my front door for Easter this year...the idea of a CROSS with a frame came to mind and this is how it looks. My CROSS might not look rugged but it reminds me daily that Christ died for us and when I see it there on my door...my heart is filled with joy...because one day I will get to meet him...what a wonderful day that will be!I found the frame in the clearance section...$23.99...I paid $4.80!I got the cross for $6.00 with a 40% off coupon...I love that you can print as many Hobby Lobby coupons that you want...I never pay full price at HL!

Don't forget to get your THRIFTY goodies ready for NIFTY THRIFTY TUESDAYS...hope to see you there!
